From 1956, through 1961, my father, Maurice Mitton, served with the ROYAL NEW ZEALAND AIR FORCE, 5 Squadron. He was a Flight Engineer aboard these glorious flying boats (including the aircraft pictured below).

I am currently collecting information on these and other flying boats with the purpose of producing a television documentary. The program will focus on these aircraft that opened the world to the traveling public, the fortunate passengers, and the men and women who served on these most unique aircraft.
